What to expect during an appointment

On your first visit, a full history of the problem will be taken, including your medical history. A thorough examination of your feet will be carried out. The Podiatrist will explain the causes and diagnoses of your foot problems and then discuss with you what treatments are available. You will be given appropriate information and the opportunity to ask questions at any time. You will then receive treatment.

Meet Our Chiropody-Podiatry Team
Carlos A. Galvis Ocampo
BSc(Hons) MRCPod, HCPC Reg Podiatrist

Carlos graduated from the University of Brighton in 2006, initially starting work as a locum podiatrist across the country, he then worked for various NHS and private organisations in London, including Enfield NHS and Central London Community Healthcare NHS in Hammersmith & Fulham, gaining vast amounts of experience treating foot and lower limb conditions.

During his time in the health service, worked covering specialist clinics with an interest in nail surgery, electro surgery, diabetes, rheumatism, biomechanics, emergency clinics and offender health.

He specialises in heel and foot conditions, gait analysis, biomechanics, sports/running injuries; ingrowing, problematic and fungal toenails, verrucaes, corns and painful hard skin. He can also provide special care to diabetics, assessing neuro-vascular components as well as providing preventative packages. Patients with arthritic conditions can also benefit from his experience as well as children with in-toeing, clumsy walking, flat feet and knocked knees. 

Carlos recently completed the London marathon and regularly takes part in charity races. he knows the importance of having and maintaining good feet. He is fully registered with both the society of chiropodists and podiatrists and the Health & care professions council.

Henok Melaku
Specialist Podiatrist

Mr. Henok Melaku is a graduate of the University of East London, earning his degree in 2007. He is a member of both the College of Podiatry and the Health and Care Professions Council. Mr. Melaku brings with him a wealth of experience, having worked in both the private sector and the National Health Service (NHS) over the years. He has been a valued member of our team for the past four years. Within the NHS, Mr. Melaku serves as a specialist podiatrist. His role involves assessing, diagnosing, educating, and implementing individualized care programs for patients with a wide range of clinical needs. This includes those with high-risk conditions such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, acute or chronic neuropathies, long-term health issues, vascular problems, and wound management in various clinical settings.

 

Throughout his career, Mr. Melaku has developed a specific interest in the management of diabetic patients and the foot problems and pathologies associated with diabetes. He has acquired a high level of confidence in managing these cases.
